Evans High School Reviews

evan's high is the best no matter what people may say because they have know idea how cool evans is

I think our school is improving greatly.

As a parent, I feel that the school needs consistency. IThe school adminnistration and staff worked on the IB Program for the past 2 years and it was introduced to us last April, but there doesn't seem to be the same teachers in the program that we met. Is this what is going to continue? My husband and I met the principal last year and she called our home to encourage us to enroll our daughter in the program. When I asked about some of the promises that were made, no one will even respond this year. I have left several messages with the principal's secretary, but my calls are not returned. I have another child who will be in the 9th grade next year, but I don't even know where he will go. Does anyonoe at Evans have any answers?

Evans is a great school for students who are willing to ignore the distractions(drama) and work their buts off.Thats what I did and my GPA never went below a 3.7.There are also teachers who will go the extra mile for your success when you need them to do so.GO TROJANS!!!

Evans High School is as a very good academic school. The new administration has really done a great job of introducing new academic programs such as Advanced Placement and IB.

As a new student at evans this year I can truly say that Evans is a great school (with the exception of certain students). Evans have an excellent IB Program and is nothing like the rumors peole say it to be.

Evans High has been called horrible and been put down constantly. People who have nevver been in the school judge it on what others say. As the qoute goes, 'When we ignore other people's ignorance, we find our own wisdom.' I believe those parents who view Evans as a 'bad' school, should learn to make thier own opinion. When walking on campus, it's a fairly calm campus, with a few students who feel as though they need to make a bad scene, but it's not as bad as people think. Heck, it's not even close to what people believe. Maynard Evans High school is a good school. Just check it out for yourself, before you judge based on the ignorance of others.

I think the academic program is great and the music, art, sports and others. I really felt bad with the cheerleader squad with the 2 boys that was acting like girls. This is unacceptable! The bank and team were great!!

Parents, visit the school and see what good education is going on. Students follow the rules and go to class. My son stays after school for tutoring and is doing much better. The principal and staff are available if you have a problem. I support Evans and encourage other parents to support them too. Visit the school. Parents are not involved enough for their children.

Quality is being added, but it takes time. Give them a chance to improve. The campus is quiet and the students are in class. No one knows this because the parents don't visit the school. Children who want to learn are learning. Parents! Get involved. Thank you Evans principles and teachers for raising the bar.

Schools cannot be successful without the assistance of the parents. Evans High does a fantastic job with the students considered the school's location and lack of parental support. Less than 50 parents attending monthly is not acceptable. If the community wants to have a higher performing school they need to assist the fantastic faculty and administration at Maynard Evans High.

I can see that Evans is still improving and quality is being valued. It is not acceptable that parents do not have any responsibility for their students. I appreciate the hard work of the principal. She is very supportive of the students. What a wonderful graduation too!

maynard evans high school is a wonderful school with an outstanding gropu of diverse young people! what is adversely affecting growth and cohesion at the school is one particular administrator.

Nothing positive to say, poor staff, facilities and education

Most of the students that attend this school are misguided and unfocused which can lead to bad behavior. They are not bad people, but they are headed down the wrong path. Teachers having to deal with the misbehavers are inattentive to the other students. Make sure your child is self motivated and focused before you consider sending them here.

This school is one of the realest schools in Orange County. I love it and dont judge unless you have attended.

I gave safety and discipline a 4 because the school is dealing with their problems instead of ignoring them. I believe there are problems everyday, but the staff works hard to keep the campus safe. Where are the parents? Very few attend meetings or join the PTA. The principal and teachers cannot do it by themselves. My child has not experienced the problems that I thought he would. I feel that the Ninth Grade Campus needs a firmer discipline and stricter teachers, but I have been very pleased with the staff at the main campus. They always take time to talk to the students if they have a problem. It would be nice if there were more mentors. It is sad that the building looks so bad.

Students now go to class. Expectations are high, campus is clean, and students are taken care of. What a difference a year makes! Go Trojans. I encourage parents to meet the principal.

Unexpected is the word for evans high. To many fights.

What a change! I visited the school on the first day and found a friendly staff and everything in order. The principal was there to meet new students. It was crowded but students were in classes.

Evans high school is a school of high academics and many opportunities are offered to students. The only concern is us, as parents, lack support for our childs and their school. Parents support is very weak at this school. There are varieties of classes and extracurricular activities offered: ranging from golf to wrestling. But all it lacks is parents involvement and miscommunication to its community.

Evans is a great learning institution with many super teachers and eager to learn students. I wouldn't send my child anywhere else but Evans High School.

After reading several of the comments, I have been forced to add my own. I noticed that the teacher rating was 4 stars, perhaps they are doing there best. The parental section only had 2 stars. This clearly states one simple fact: If you are not happy with the school, get out there and help those who are trying hard to teach and learn!

I think many of us view this school as a place to learn. Many of our middle school student that attended schools like Robinswood a 'B' school are forced to attend Evans and are subjected to an education that is no longer at a high pace. This is what I would say 'settling for less. If we raised the bar we can do it. I am glad that Evans did not recieve an 'F,' but a 'D' grade is just not ok we need to stop congraduating and start educating.

this is a very good school, keep up the good work trojans!

I am not a parent I am a recent graduate of Evans High school. i felt that the education that I received at Evans has prepared me very well for the next level. It is not the kind of school that everyone pertrays it to be.

Evans High School is one of the worse in the OCPS system. That's the best kept secret about it. Their imposition of a Senior project on students along with the FCAT are contributing factors to their 4% drop out rate! This school is horrible!

EHS is the best kept secret in Orange County. The students are excellent individuals. The teachers are also dedicated.
