Dover Shores Elementary School Reviews

I had a great experience with the principal's leadership. I am especially thankful to the dean of students for his forsight in coming up with different programs to help stimulate academics and self-esteem through his 'eat Lunch Wth the Dean'. My daughter is very shy and she pleaded with me to help her get signed up to be able to participate in the dean's program. I contacted him and he made sure my daughter was able to participate. It really made her day. The dean of students really made my daughter feel special and a part of her peers and Dover Shores, thank you a lot!!

I am a parent of 2 Dover Shores students, one just completed 5th grade and one going into 3rd grade for 08-09 school year. I am on the PTA board and put in 300 hours last year. Our school is awesome and Dr. Hart has been a breath of fresh air for our school. Our teachers and staff are one of a kind and for the most all love their job and all DSES students. We have a 5th grade teacher that has been there for 28 yrs. and he rocks. Both my children are straight A students mostly because I stay involved and there teachers do all that they can to make sure they succeed. The only thing I would like to see is more parents (especially the one's that like to complain from the sofa) get involved in our school and help us make a difference!

We moved from this school because the violence and discipline is a nightmare. The 'dean of Discipline' is a joke.

The school is a very well educated school. Has its defects like every other school.

We could not be more pleased with the well-rounded education our children have recieved at Dover Shores. The teachers are truly gifted educators and are lead by a strong administrative team. We specifically bought our home so our children could attend DSES. The afterschool program offered by the City of Orlando is wonderful. The staff does not 'babysit', they are actively involved with the children providing additional enrichment and encouragement.

This school is not as good as some think it is. The principal has some issues she needs to work through and it not very friendly.

My daughter has learned so much and has a very diverse group of fellow students. Her understanding of Spanish is incredible as well as her grasp of math, science and social studies. In Kindergarten, she already knows what a line of symmetry is! However, I seem to be the only parent volunteering to do things with the kids. A couple of students constantly act out and make it difficult for our child (and others in the class) to focus on learning.

Dover Shores is an excellent school. I wish my son could go to a middle school with the same structure as Dover Shore. Unfortunately, he can't. I'll miss Dover when he graduates.

The teachers at Dover Shores are awesome! They really care about the students! On the down side, the organization of the school as a whole needs work. There is a lack of clear communication between the parents and the administration.

I went here as a child and the campus remains the same. Very clean and child friendly. The teachers seem to be enthusiatic but not often challenging enough. Excellent parental involvement.

This is a wonderful neighborhood school with a faculty and staff that genuinely cares about its students. My son had a great experience during his time at Dover Shores and we will miss the family environment that has been created there.

School is neat, clean and children friendly. They have a great counseling program designed to follow and help all students with individual attention.

Dover shores is a great elementary school. My son has been in attendance since Kindergarten. The teachers are there for the students but even better the parents are too. Swimming is required for physical education with is a necessity in Florida.

We have had a wonderful experience with Dover Shores Elementary! We are proud that our children are able to obtain their early education at such an organized and involved school!

My son attended Dover Shores from kindergarten - 4th grade. He was very successful and enjoyed his time at the school. The teachers were talented and caring. The principal and parents were very involved and there was a true sense of community at the school. Our experience was a very positive one.
